In 2012, 90.3 AMP Radio gave Calgary-area music artists over $500,000 in Career Development support.
90.3 AMP Big ROCK STAR Contestants are judged throughout the year and during the FINAL by music industry professionals and Newcap Radio on their performance abilities, song writing skills, business acumen, fan support and community involvement. At the jam-packed Big ROCK STAR FINAL event radio, music and entertainment industry professionals and over 1000 fan ballots contributed to overall scores. For qualifying for the Big ROCK STAR FINAL, the six semi-finalists were each awarded $10,000 in 2012 90.3 AMP Canadian Talent Funds. The winner received $210,000 and the runners-up split over $100,000 in 90.3 AMP Radio Canadian Talent Development support.
